WE ARE COARSE
Sculptures by the German duo known as coarse are fabricated in the artists’ Los Angeles and Berlin studios. With each piece, Mark Landwehr and Sven Waschk tell lyrical stories about aging, longing, loneliness, and the search for companionship, aiming to incite contemplation about the nature of our relationships and our lives.
Every few months, selected original sculptures become small-run vinyl replicas and are available online to collectors worldwide.
Through solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, Berlin, Tokyo, Seoul, and Chicago, as well as brand collaborations with the likes of Warner Bros., Richard Mille for Pharrell Williams, Diesel, Vans, and Ikea, Landwehr and Waschk have established a base of collectors around the world.
NO RENDERINGS, NO AI. Sculptures, ideas, images, and words are all human-made since 2003.
